Nothing tragic about this rock 'n roll version of the classic. Shakespeare's story of teenage lovers finds new energy in this modern idiom with rap and rock 'n roll music. Even the feuding families, the DeCapitates and the Mountainviews, become good friends. The Bard's classic lines are translated into teenage slang within an unpredictable situation comedy. It's the same love-at-first-sight tale, but Romeo and Julie's presumed elopement turns out to be nothing more than puppy love.

What can you say about a show that features a wise-cracking magic mirror, seven dwarfs with questionable standards of hygiene, a huntsman who couldn’t out-think a tree stump, and a cameo appearance by Peter Pan? You can safely say this isn’t your grandfather’s Snow White. In this production, the basic fairytale has been totally fractured in an uproarious and slap-sticky free-for-all that even features six musical numbers as funny as the script.

Registration for this session begins mid-February. Check back for details.

Rodgers & Hammerstein's first collaboration remains, in many ways, their most innovative having set the standards and established the rules of musical theater still being followed today. Set in the Western Territory just after the turn of the century, the high-spirited rivalry between the local farmers and cowboys provides the colorful background against which Curly, a handsome cowboy, and Laurey, a winsome farm girl, play out their love story. Although the road to true love never runs smooth, with these two headstrong romantics holding the reins, love's journey is as bumpy as a surrey ride down a country road. That they will succeed in making a new life together we have no doubt, and that this new life will begin in a brand-new state provides the ultimate climax to the triumphant Oklahoma!
